Hospital Recount!!!

On the 8th of November I was admitted into hospital due to my right hip. The condition that I had was called a sufe. A sufe is when you hip slips out of place and then that will require surgery and that's what I had.

Just sitting on the couch with my little baby sister, out of nowhere the phone rings “ring ring ring!!, . My dad picked up the phone and answered it. While he was talking on the phone, I couldn't hear anything because my little sister was crying on the top of her lungs. Once my dad finished talking I watched him hang up the phone and he wasn't very happy about what he heard.

When my mum arrived home my dad wanted to talk to her in the room about something very important. As I was listening I heard that the Glen Innes Medical Health Centre called they said that my mum has to take me down to Starship right away and as soon as I heard that I quickly ran to my room and started packing.

As I was packing my bag my mum helped me so it could be faster and quicker. Once we finished packing, we put everything that we needed in the bag and we made sure we had everything just to make sure.

Once we had everything that we needed my mum walked her way down the stairs with my bag. As my mum went down I said my goodbyes because the last time I had to wait for a week until I got my left hip done. Anyways When I hopped into the car we went straight to Auckland Hospital and we went and we went into the emergency. I was really nervous waiting in the waiting room with all these other kids. When it was my turn I walked my way into the room. As I was telling information about who I was and they checked my temperature and gave me medicine.

Then I was pushed in a wheelchair into a waiting room waiting for a doctor to come and examine my hip to see if they need to do surgery. I was really bored so I grabbed a book from the shelf and I read it until a doctor came. He examined my hip and then he told my mum that I was going to be admitted into hospital. Once I was admitted into hospital I was told that I had to get an x-ray. So my mum was having some fun by pushing me down fast and quickly all the way to the Radiologist room. When we arrived there I was called in to take my x-ray. I had to stay there still as a statue. While that was done I went back up into my ward, Ward 24 and I was in room 9.

At about 4.00 the nurse came into my room to take my temperature and my blood pressure, once they finished they told me that my name is still on the list to have surgery. My mum was crossing her fingers that I would have my surgery and as soon as we saw a helicopter fly by we were saying I am not going to get my surgery. Eventually all that waiting we went for my surgery at 8.50 and I was saying in my head finally I'm getting my surgery.

I was scared and I was nervous as well. I went down the elevator with surgeons in my bed. When I was waiting a man came and made sure that I was the right person and made sure I had the right information about me incase they are doing the wrong person its just there job.

As I was talking to my mum another man come in to tell me that he's the one who is going to keep me asleep throughout the surgery . Before I went to sleep they transferred me on a surgery table and they put a line into my veins so during the surgery they can check my blood cells if they are fine and they are able to move on with the surgery.

As I was relaxing the surgeon put a mask on me for me to breath in the gas so I am able to fall in a deep sleep. I couldn't remember anything I woke up from the sleep. I couldn't get up until it was 11.00 and I woke up to eat something . Then I went back to bed. When I woke up from sleeping I was waiting a doctor to check me so I can be able to go home. Onec they came I was scared but happy that they came to talk about my hip. They said that I can not walk on my leg I have to stay off it for 6 weeks and that sounded hard and annoying but I do what the doctors say.

Once the nurse Wendy gave my mum the papers for her to sign for me to leave the hospital and to check if I’m alright. Once I got home I was relieved and I was glad to be home. It was another adventure no quiet but it was irritating. But I got there in the end and i'm done for the last time.

New Born Baby Girl!!!!!!

On Wednesday the 2nd of September I quickly  hopped out of my bed after my evening sleep as I heard the phone ring ,as I was about to answer the phone I noticed that my 4 brothers and my cousin (Elly) were sleeping.

As I answered the phone I noticed that it was my mum, I talked to her for a little while. As I excitedly hanged up the phone I quickly dashed to my room to get ready because I was so stoked to go and see my mum as well as staying with her to keep her company.

The Reason why I was going to stay with my mum in the hospital is because my mum was about to have my new born baby sister. As my dad was driving I was really excited so I couldn't stop smiling and my dad thought I was weird. Anyways as we got to the carpark I immediately got out of the car and I had a firm grip on my dad's hand and I pulled him towards the  lift.

When we got up to the main entrance we went to level 9 and the ward my mum was on was the title that said Labour and Birth Unit. As soon as I saw that title I ran and pulled the door open. Once I pulled the door I sprinted to room 11 to see my mum. Just as I was about to open the door my mums midwife opened it for me and I ran into the room and said with enthusiasm  ‘Hi” to my mum.

At about midnight my mum was feeling pain. So she was able to have my baby sister at midnight and my sister was born on the 2nd of September 1 day before my nana's birthday which is the 3rd of September.

I was really happy that I have another baby sister to add to the family and i'm relieved that i'm not the only girl anymore! My sister was 7.5kgs, she was a cutie. My new born baby sister's name is Syafirah - Lee Sanisitou!

Article - Boy Who Blessed Homeless Man

In breaking news, there has been a little boy blessed a hungry homeless man, in an Alabama waffle house. Josiah Duncan a 5 year old boy entered the waffle house with his mother Ava Faulk. As Josiah was eating his meal he spotted a man sitting on the table with no food who looked hungry.

Five year old Josiah asked his mother some questions, “why is that man dirty? Why are his clothes ripped?, and why doesn't he have any food?”. His mother Ava Faulk explained to her son that “he might not have a place to stay, and that maybe he can't afford a meal”. Josiah was feeling sympathetic because he had something good to eat and the homeless man was just sitting at a bare table.

Josiah was really disappointed to hear that about a homeless man. He decided to ask his mother to buy the homeless man something to eat.  Josiah went over to the table and asked the man if he wanted something to eat.  With joy the homeless man was really grateful that he came over. Josiah said “you can't order food without a menu”, so Josiah went over and got a menu for the man.

The homeless man ordered a burger. As he  was ordering a burger he asked Josiah if he could have some bacon as well. Josiah was so kind he said “sure”. Customers and staff were really touched with how the little boy (Josiah) went  and got him something to eat as well as taking it over to him.

As the poor man was about to take his first bite of his burger Josiah wanted to sing a song to bless the food. Josiah started singing as loud as his little voice could go. Josiah blessed the food by singing and praying. WSFA 12 news reported, Josiah`s prayer was “God our father, god our father , we thank you, we thank you, for many blessings, for our many blessings, Amen, Amen. “The man cried, I cried, everybody cried”, Faulk admitted.

Once Josiah finished singing, the poor man ate his food and left with a full stomach, while Ava faulk left with happiness and she was proud of how he felt empathy of what he had displayed  .

Mr Burt`s - Korero

In the afternoon block, the year 8 and 7`s had a special visitor, from our own principal, Mr Burt. He was welcome to tell us about his history of his ancestors which was his grandfather. Mr Burt talked about his grandfather and how he took part the first world war one. He was talking about how our New Zealanders who fought for our country invented things that had been invented before.

First he talked about is Technology, is it good or bad? The word he talked about was Militarism. Mr Burt said that Militarism is about when back in the olden days it's when people wanted to start fights for no reason at all.

Like shoving and pushing and arguing to make the fight happened. There were war between the British and the Germans. They were fighting over about how the New Zealanders made a battle ship by the name of Drednort.

Mr Burt told us about how his grandfather was the first man to have his own bicycle. His grandfather had a olden day bicycle. He said that there was no brakes on the bike so when you would go down a hill you will have to use your feet to stop yourself from going fast. Or With stopping the bike you could pick your legs off the ground and let your bike do all the work. It was really weird because wont you like fall off the bike when you going down the hill. Also girls could not ride bikes because back in the olden days girls wore dresses and if they would ride a bike there dress will lift up and it will show there underwear.

This battleship Dreadnought, was all over the newspaper in the olden days and then the Germans made there own battleship that was twice bigger than the New Zealand battleship. The New Zealanders and the Germans were all arguing about how they can crush their ships and how they can destroy it into pieces.

Our Principal also talked about how the soldiers went to dangerous places and how they got bad diseases and they went home and they gave their illness to their children and there wife. Therefore soldiers died due to their sickness from a place where you can get sick and died on that land.

It was really fascinating to see Mr Burt, come into our block and tell us all about his grandfather's journey in the war. Hearing about what New Zealand made and how soldiers died for our country, was really cool and sad.

But I think Mr Burt is happy that his grandfather fought for our country and all the other men who died for New Zealand . It must have been dreadful adventure to kill, bomb others, stab others and shooting them with bullets. But he was welcome to us telling us and hearing a story about how someone in real  life went to war.

Maths - By Nikita

Here I have a presentation. This is what I have learned. I have learned not to over think my questions and just relax and do my work. Measurement was a really hard thing to do in maths. But im glad now that I know what measurement is all about. I have learned about the 4 things we use to measure. MM for millimetres, CM for centimetres, M for Metres and Km which is for Kilometres. My teacher, Miss Peato has taught me with Measurement. At first it was hard and now it looks like I know what measurement is. We learned how to measure with rulers and how to divide and multiply our measurements. And in this presentation I have something to show you I have learned about measurement.

The 3'Ps

My Holidays 2015

The holidays weren't very pleasant for me and my family for the reason that my nana had passed away. My nana passed away on the 18th of December. It was shocking my mum and I for the reason that we were close to my nana. My mum was really stressed and hurt on the inside. There were so many memories with my nana, she was an amazing nana to me when I was little.

As to why my nana died is because she had a type of disease, she had cancer. She was fighting this disease so she couldn't keep fighting there for instead her body gave up and the disease won. My nana didn't make it to christmas. It was really sad all those times she would always dress silly and make us laugh and happy with joy .

Crying in tears with my mother singing in church was just dreadful. The best nana i've ever had and now she has gone for good. My mother did not put our christmas tree up or she didn’t wrap our presents because it was too emotional. Losing someone you love is really frustrating and it hurts you inside.

My nana has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. I love my nana very much. Just watching my nana pass away wasn't good at all. My nana is now in heaven in peace. Leaving me my aunties, uncles and cousins in tears all day everyday. From now on our lives will be sad every time we think about our dearly missed nana. You will always have a place in my heart.
